Artur Jędrzejczyk Has Left Euro 2016

News
His Poland national team lost to Portugal on a penalty shoot-out in the quarterfinal

FC Krasnodar defender Artur Jędrzejczyk has played another match at the UEFA Euro 2016. He spent full 120 minutes of both full and extra time on the pitch in the quarterfinal fixture against Portugal.

Artur, fielded again as a left-back, supported the attack of his team actively and displayed a confident performance in defense throughout the game, the way he had done in the previous matches in France. Robert Lewandowski scored an opener for the Poles as early as on the 2nd minute, but their opposition was able to retaliate with an equalizing goal before the half-time thanks to effort made by Renato Sanches and a small rebound. The spectators saw no more goals in the 90 minutes of the full and 30 minutes of the extra time, so the final whistle recorded a 1-1 tie and the winner had to be determined with a penalty shoot-out. The Portuguese were more lucky in those; 5-3 as a result. The Polish team is leaving France now, while Portugal is to meet the winner of the Wales vs. Belgium tie in the semifinal.
